Join the team at Yoga Sutra Shala

If you love yoga and meditation; if you are a yoga teacher, a chef, or an individual with an interest in healthy living; if you have good language skills, communication skills, and/or administration or management experience; if you want to contribute as a team member and share happiness with others, then we would love to have you here volunteering with us as a fellow Karma yogi*.

Yoga Sutra Shala is a unique and homely yoga retreat centre located in the beautiful Vall de Gallinera in the Valencian Community of Spain.
Our yoga students come to us from all around the world - as do our volunteers - which contributes well to the friendly, open-minded and positive environment that we wish to nurture here.

*A Karma yogi
fulfills their tasks selflessly
– for the good
of the whole;
without attachment
to the deed
or the outcome;
doing the deed
for it’s own reward; with kindness, compassion and happiness.
Through a balance
of rest and action,
a Karma yogi improves
their knowledge of
the true Self.

As a volunteer

Learn

lots about yoga, meditation and pranayama by attending regular classes at the retreat.There are also opportunities to practice speaking Spanish with some of the locals if you're interested in learning.

Explore

during your time off: The experience of living in a beautiful valley in a traditional village with lots of opportunities for mountain hiking is too good to miss!  The exciting and historical cities of Valencia and Alicante are both an hour and a half away.For some beach time you can visit the coastal towns of Denia and Oliva, just half an hours drive from the retreat.

Enjoy

your rest time either at the retreat or at the team-shared accommodation in a lovely house, 10 minutes walk from the retreat centre.

Our preference is that you stay with us for a minimum of 3 months.

The retreat is open from Sunday to Friday each week and we have an average of 12 retreat guests.
Retreats are conducted in English - though Spanish is also spoken here.

Team members each work around 30 hours per week and have
2 days off work each week (one of these being the whole of Saturday) to rest and recuperate.

"My actions are my only true belongings."
